    2 tablespoons (30ml) milk

    * In a pan over medium heat, add the diced apple, sugar, and cinnamon. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the apples are soft and the mixture has thickened. Remove from heat and allow to cool.
    * Once cooled, stir in the crushed walnuts (if using). Set aside. If you are not using walnuts, you might want to use 2 apples.
    * In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the egg, salt, vanilla, and granulated sugar. Mix in the milk, followed by the melted butter. Sprinkle in the baking powder, then gradually add the flour, stirring until a soft dough forms. If the dough is too sticky, add a little more flour until it’s manageable.
    * On a floured surface, roll out the dough to about 1/4-inch thickness. Using a round cookie cutter, cut out circles of dough. Place a small spoonful of the apple filling in the center of each circle. Carefully fold the dough over the filling, pressing the edges to seal.
    * Preheat your oven to 180ยฐC (350ยฐF). Place the filled biscuits on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
    * Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the biscuits are lightly golden.
    * Once baked, remove from the oven and allow to cool before sprinkling with powdered sugar.
