Tunisian cuisine is a vibrant and flavorful culinary tradition that combines diverse Mediterranean and North African influences. Key ingredients like couscous, harissa, and merguez sausages form the basis of many dishes. Harissa, a fiery chili paste, adds a spicy kick, while couscous is a staple in Tunisian households, often served with savory stews, such as Mechoui or Tunisian Tagine. Seafood, including fresh catches from the Mediterranean, inspires delectable dishes like seafood pastries and spicy shakshuka. Tunisian cuisine is a harmonious blend of rich, aromatic flavors that deliver a true taste of the Mediterranean with a North African twist.

  1. Thank you for your videos! I am American and have been married to a Tunisian man for a little over a year. My mother in law is an amazing cook and I want to replicate her recipes but it is sometimes hard to follow along because we don’t speak the same language. I’m so glad you share recipes in English so I can actually make Tunisian food at my home! You also make everything really simple and look easy.

  2. Can you help me out please, i made this but the bread is very crispy from the ouside. My tunisian husband says its supposed to be soft and spongy. How can i fix this please. Thank you so much

  3. Thank you so much for making this! I'm American and recently returned from a trip to France. I fell in love with these at a little Tunisian bakery in Belleville. I had very little hope in even finding the name of the dish so you've definitely made my day to see the recipe. Thanks again!
