After the NYC Michelin announcement I went to try NYC’s newest 2* at Odo. Overall, for 135$ per person, Odo’s lunch offering is a fantastic value meal and does an excellent job of providing a 2* Michelin quality experience for a fraction of the price.

Regarding the courses, my favorites were the Fatty Tuna (picture 4), Long Island Duck (picture 3), and the Wagyu Soba Noodles (picture 5).
The first two courses (picture 1: Uni and Caviar over Egg Custard) (picture 2: Mushroom Soup) were very good but lacked depth to help them standout.
Finally, dessert at Odo is a Strawberry Soft Serve (picture 6) which I found to be a bit underwhelming given the quality of the previous courses and the 2* status.

Outside of the food, the atmosphere at Odo is extraordinary quiet, stoic and serious. There wasn’t much talking going on within the dinning room and the emphasis is heavily on the food and general eating experience. There are only a few individuals working in the open-style kitchen but were friendly throughout the meal. Comparatively to Atomix, Odo has a similar seating arrangement but a less overall friendly dining environment.

Overall, I’d recommend giving Odo a visit especially for someone on a budget or new to dining at Michelin restaurants. You can spend a lot more for a lot worse in NYC, and Odo holds it own particularly with its main courses.

FYI – Odo does not provide nor have a standard set menu. Apologies in advance!

I have heard that the Odo lunch offering is one of the best deals in town. Folks also like to bring up the Aquavit lunch in the good deal category. Feel free to bring up more!

Thanks for posting, I’ve had my eye on odo for a while, and even more now since they got their 2nd star.

How many courses was it? Are the pictures all of them or just your favourites?

I had a fantastic completely different lunch here when it was 1 star for $125. I had a crab course, some fish in soup and A5 wagyu instead of duck. Everything is really delicious, perhaps nothing inventive but executed perfectly. Even at $135, probably the best value u will get out of all the 2 stars in the city. The vibe is definitely quiet with no music in background. I honestly wasn’t that surprised they got 2 stars, happy for them.
