Like the title says I am a newbie canner. I followed a Ball recipe for cranberry pear jam. I did everything just like the recipe called except I didn’t cover the water bath pot with a lid. I checked the water level after I turned the heat off after 10 minutes and the pot still had a little over an inch of water covering the jars. Will they be ok? I’m planning on giving these as gifts this year for Christmas.

  2. I think if the water was boiling and completely submerged it should be fine!
