Was hoping to give strawberry jam out as a gift- resulting jam is very foamy and there is a gap between jam and lid. Will this be okay to give out (worries about food safety)- they all sealed properly! The pomegranate raspberry jam did not develop this problem.

I would not worry about safety if lids sealed and your canning process went fine.
The appearance doesn’t have to be “perfect” to be a great gift!

Cut circles of fabric larger than lid and tie them over the top with a ribbon/string or secure using canning ring. This will shape up appearance when gifting.

If the flavor is good (and strawberry jam is a treat) you are all set.

    What a generous thoughtful gift.
    ❤️
