One of my top-fine dining experiences and certainly one of my favorites this year, I’d recommend everyone that stops by or lives in DC goes at least once!
**Atmosphere/Aesthetic:** Certainly if you’re a traditional elegant type, this may not be your favorite, but if you enjoy contemporary and creative experiences that feel like a party, you’ll love it! The only similar restaurant I’ve gone to that pops to mind is DiverXO in Madrid, but even that wasn’t fully equal. Lots of sequined dresses there (including ours), delicious caviar, gold leaf, champagne, etc. Gaudy, but in a good way.
**Price: $1,516.46 total for 2 people, including**
* 345 pp for meal (technically 4 courses, but tons of extras and amuse-bouche, as well as extra cake for my friend’s birthday)
* 95 pp for zero proof pairing (although we asked them to split
* 250 for Truffle Ice Cream Sundae Bar (serves two people)
**Top favorite things:** Coffee-parmesan risotto, three-cheese ‘cheez-it’ ravioli, beggar’s purses, butter ice cream, jello shots, and pretty much everything else. The Truffle Sundae Bar was especially fun and delicious!
**Only weak point:** We ended up switching half of the zero-proof pairing for alcoholic as a decent amount of the zero-proof was non-alcoholic versions of spirits and wine which for me just feels like a non-creative cop-out. I would have loved more mocktails, or juices/teas etc.
**Extras after the meal:** Signed menu, polaroid pictures of us, matchbook, take-home burger (_The Menu, anyone?)_
