In advance, I would like to thank u/hellohi3 for inspiration for both this post and some restaurant choices. Everything we had was delicious and I look forward to going back again soon!
PHOTOS IN ORDER:
1. Angelo’s Pizza
2. Ess-a-Bagel
3. Lattanzi – Main courses (seafood linguini)
4. Lattanzi- Tiramisu (best tiramisu I’ve had…been here years ago and it still holds up)
5. Au Cheval (incredible burger…Jane’s honey fried chicken was good, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to get it again)
6. Magnolia Bakery (banana pudding and specialty red velvet banana pudding)
7. Carbone – Baked clams (honestly the highlight…preferred them over the spicy rigatoni)
8. Carbone – Spicy rigatoni and chicken massimo
9. Carbone – Rainbow cookies
10. Manhatta – Main courses – FAVORITE restaurant for fine dining. Each of us got the four course dinner and not one thing was disappointing.
11. Manhatta – Desserts + extras – The chai soufflé was especially heavenly.
12. Joe’s Pizza (delivery)
13. Soothr – Best Thai food I’ve had in the US. The Koong Karee was a nice treat as my girlfriend is Thai and she hadn’t had it since she lived in Bangkok years ago.
Overall, I highly recommend each restaurant. I will say however that Carbone is just a niche experience with exceptional service and it is not worth the difficulty of obtaining a reservation. The food was delicious, but not enough to “wow” me like Manhatta did. I’m still thankful I got to go to Carbone though.
If anyone has questions feel free to message me or comment! Also feel free to send me some more recommendations. Thank you!! 🙂

Wondering how you did score a reservation for Carbone?
Not enough street food to my liking
Yes
I dream of the koong karee from Soothr maybe once a week…..I need to get down to the LES
When I went to soothr the food was mid af😭have to go back because everyone says it’s amazing
Those rainbow cookies don’t look great 😕
That Joe’s pizza in the hotel room looks really satisfying lol like you probably walked around all day and were exhausted so wanted to stay in with some good NYC pizza.
You guys went off jealous
Good stuff.
I’d recommend visiting a better bagel joint next time. ESS-A is kinda over-priced and under-delivered.
I recommend Brooklyn Bagel Co. and Bagel Pub – at least for the price you get some bangerang bagels.
Everyone I’ve ever recommended Manhatta too has been amazed. Just the view while dining is worth the price tag
Lattanzi! Nice choice
Go to Urban Hawkers
Angelo’s Pizza looks divine!!
You’re gonna need a cardiac angiogram when you leave
Au Cheval so damn good
Cool! 🙂
We keep it on the down low.
Jackson Heights is probably the food capital of the world. But as above, we keep it on the down low. Bhutanese anyone?
Queen’s dining will blow your mind.
Next time. 🙂
Why didn’t you go to china town?
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Great lineup. I hope you’ll come back to visit soon.
Also, you can TOTALLY hack the spicy rigatoni from carbone by yourself. I did it for a dinner party a few years ago and my guests were beyond amazed at how close it was
Awesome! Looks like you ate your way through the city.
Angelo’s pizza is the best
Essa bagels best
No street meat?
Joe’s pizza has fallen off . It definitely ain’t the same as it was 20 years back. Johns pizza around the block is much better .
