Family friend’s grandmother made a pack for baked goods and these for Christmas. I don’t know her well and love the idea for consumables for holiday gifts. But I’ve lurked on here and want to check with y’all on the shelf stability of these, thinking worse case is she water baths. Would they be safe?

All of these can be safely water bathed assuming that tested recipes were used.

I’ve safely water bathed all of these. But that doesn’t mean they were water bathed safely! You’ll have to determine how trustworthy the cook is.

I love canning food…I hate getting canned goods from other people. Your question is reasonable

Regarding the thought, “worst case is she water baths” — pressure canning *everything* is not advisable, either, as discussed here in Healthy Canning: https://www.healthycanning.com/can-i-just-pressure-can-everything-instead-of-water-bathing/

You could reach out to learn more, something like, “thanks so much for the apple butter, salsa and relish — what an amazing variety. I’m new to the world of home canning and am trying to learn all I can about it — could you please point me to your recipe sources?”
