The NYT Cooking Chocolate Chip Cookie, by a landslide! Everyone who tried the King Arthur cookies agreed they were “good” or “really good”. But when asked how they compared to the NYT Cooking chocolate chip I started baking in the summer everyone agreed that while the King Arthur recipe was good, it was not nearly as good as the NYT Cooking recipe. The NYT Cookie recipe was deemed far, far superior!

That’s shocking. The King Arthur cookies look amazing, and the NYT ones look eh. But the taste doesn’t lie

Which NYT chocolate chip cookie recipe?? There are several.

  4. Is there a link to the recipe?

I make the Cooks Illustrated recipe. It’s solid!

I’m guessing the NYT cookie is the first photo, just based on the different types of chocolate I can see.
Your KA cookie doesn’t look nearly as good as their recipe photos, but they have professional food stylists and photographers. I’ll be making it in a couple of weeks, so I’ll see what I think about the flavor and texture then.

NYT every time. I cut down the sugar though, I do 1c white, 1cup 1TSB brown. I also use a mixture of semi, milk, and dark chocolate.

  8. Yeah I have yet to find a recipe that compares to the Jacques Torres one. Why do people call it the NYT cookie when its Jacques’ recipe just written up on the NYT? Is it just because it’s not on his own personal website/blog?

The KA Ig page has a lot of people saying the recipe of the year is either not good at all or just meh. I still want to try them because of the Tangzhong – but it’s weird to me to use that with cookies since it’s usually for breads or sweet doughs like cinnamon rolls.

  10. I would be curious on how you or others that have tried these two recipes would feel sugarologies dulce de leche chocolate chip cookies would compare. The dulce de leche replaces eggs. It is hands down the best cookie recipe I have ever tried. I lowered the temp from 350 to 338 for 10 minutes and baked them after the cookie dough balls had completely chilled.

I am not surprised. I did not like the new KA cookies and will not remake.
