Didn’t adhere much when I tried it before, but second times the charm! Breakfast is a rice cake with dried cranberry cinnamon goat cheese and a side of grapes!

    Ingredients :

1 salted rice cake (I used Quaker brand, can get unsalted ones if needed)

1 – 2 tablespoons of cranberry cinnamon goat cheese (found at Costco, though I do believe it’s a seasonal item. Can top with regular goat cheese, dried cranberries, and cinnamon)

    1/4 cup of grapes

You’re going to carb crash quickly which might lead to wanting more food and which may make you snack. Rice cakes aren’t really part of this lifestyle as they’re usually made with white rice and are more processed. The cranberry goat cheese has added sugar, and the grapes won’t provide much satiety. (My husband loves that goat cheese, and it is really good. It’s a nice seasonal treat.)

You might instead use a slice of whole grain bread (Dave’s Killer Bread Powerseed is a good choice, Ezekiel bread is clean, and Trader Joe’s has a couple that are darn close). Do the cranberry goat cheese and top that with half an ounce of chopped pecans. You can go up to a half cup of fresh fruit. A couple of small alterations will give you a cleaner (less processed) meal, more satiety, and more nutrients.

Don’t think you need to be calorie-restrictive with this lifestyle. Half your meal should be fruit/vegetables, a quarter whole grain, and a quarter protein. All the fiber will make you feel full, and healthy fats also add to that. If you eat according to the ratios, you’ll find you will organically eat fewer calories while still feeling like you’ve eaten until you’ve had enough.

I can see why you struggled with it the first time around.
