Since I started my Nespresso journey I’ve had 7 different Original line machines and 3 different Vertuo machines.

I’ve tried nearly every different capsule from both of the systems.

Now I’ve reached the peak in the Nespresso universe. After getting the Zenius and trying the professional line pods (especially the Finezzo pod), I am never looking back.

A higher amount of coffee per capsule than the Original line means a fuller and richer taste. The crema is also of much better quality than any of the original machines I’ve had. It’s much more dense and creamy and not as bubbly and uneven as from OL.

The taste is also much better, but this may be due to personal preference.

I’m left to wonder why Nespresso leave out the regular costumers from their best coffee experience, I wish more had the chance to try out the Professional line on a regular basis.

I for sure will never go back to OL or VL.

Maybe it’s just a question of $$$, what’s the price of a pro pod vs an OL pod?

  2. We have a commercial machine at work that uses those pods. They’re fine. Not any better than what comes out of our Innisia.

  3. Our vet has one of these in the waiting room; can’t say I notice it tasting better, but maybe the environment is a factor…

Major reasons for the pro pods are more efficient packaging (corporate boxes with 50 each), and less stealing for home use. Supposedly the machines can handle higher volumes, which would make sense, then again I feel I often read about them failing anyway. Tragedy of the commons, perhaps. 🙂

It’s not superior, it’s just a watered down version of vertuo.

I like those pro pods, had them in my old office. Not a huge difference to me, but the additional coffee per pod compared to OL was certainly better for bigger milk drinks like a latte.

It makes sense that employers prefer a different style pod simply to keep employeo from taking handfuls of them home.

But this is what *should have* become their premium line for consumers instead of the cheaper Vertuo Line of machines and pods. I can imagine making a drip-style coffee from these pods would work better than an espresso from their centrifuges.

I have one for my creative studio and I completely agree. It’s superior to my other Nespresso machines.

  7. I used to have a Gemini CS100 I got for free from a friend that was closing down his business. Definitely better coffee.

I was looking into this machine, but hesitant because of the availability of pods, so I’m wondering where/how I can buy them.

the pro machines are so sleek! i love the look of the flatter disc shaped pods.

Honestly, I have a Zenius at my office but I still prefer the Original Line a lot more.

Can you recycle the capsules in the same bag as the OL and Vertuo capsules?

They’re pretty cheap on Ebay for a used one.. can’t justify it after buying a Creatista a few months ago though.

Pods seem cheaper which is nice though.

That Zenius intrigues me! Can I use it in an American kitchen with normal 120V outlets or does it need 220V?
