I just finished canning for the first time (I made apple sauce) and the rack seems to be reacting in some way. Is this normal or did I ruin this jar rack?
Also, can anybody confirm if popping sounds are normal after I remove it from the water bath? I have 6 pint jars cooling after processing and I’ve heard a few of their seals “pop,” is that normal while they cool? I’ll do lift tests after 24 hours, of course.
Thank you in advance!

You want to hear the ping! As the contents inside of the canning jar, cool it forms a vacuum and that vacuum is verified with the dome on the lid going conclave, which causes the ping sound. The pink could be mineral deposits or see if you had any leakage in your jars that could have caused it as well. It is a non-issue in my opinion.
I think they have a finish on them that get worn away. Mine is like that. I think it’s fine.
The joints where the wires are connected are starting to rust. Mine is doing this too and it’s only a few months old. It’s rust.
I buy a new rack every 4 or 5 years, although it’s probably not necessary. That said, I would pay top dollar if some manufacturer would make stainless steel rings.
