The soy milk one is cheaper where I live, and though both are tasty, I like the coconut one better. I think the soy milk one is better for a dulce the leche substitute when it’s thick.

Condensed soy milk:

* 1 cup soy milk powder (about 55g, don’t compress it)

* 3/4 cup raw sugar (the lighter kind). I might substitute it for 1/2 cup next time I make it.

* 2 tbsp coconut oil (you can add more, I’ll explain why below)

* 1/4 teaspoon salt

* 1/2 cup warm water (not boiling, but hot enough that it dissolves the ingredients without melting your blender)

First add the water, the oil, salt and sugar to the blender, pulse it, then add the soy milk powder. This helps prevent the soy milk from getting stuck on the blades (generally what happens if you add it first).

If it’s liquid and not too dense, don’t worry, as it cools down it will thicken. About the coconut oil, you can add more (up to some 4 tablespoons) to ensure it remains smooth if you’d like to freeze it. Depending on how thick it gets, this condensed milk basically turns into dulce de leche. Mine froze well (4tbsp coconut oil). Though if it’s a little dense already, and if you leave it on the fridge, it’ll thicken to a similar texture as well. If you don’t want that, just add a little water before using it and mix well.

Condensed coconut milk:

* 1 1/2 cup coconut milk powder

* 1/2 cup raw sugar (the lighter kind)

* 1/2 cup warm water (hot enough to dissolve the ingredients etc.)

Same thing here, add the sugar and water first to prevent the milk powder from getting stuck. Add the powder, blend, done.

I love to add the coconut one (which is less dense) to fill up a french bread like [this one](http://agenciambrasil.com.br/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/p%C3%A3o-franc%C3%AAs.jpg) or just any kind of bread that’s crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. Remove some of the filling, put some condensed milk and distribute it like you’re squeezing a toothpaste tube (bottom up) so that it gets everywhere. Wait a little for the bread to absorb it. Enjoy — and please don’t do that too often, as it’s not good for your health.

    Thanks for sharing! I like that you don’t have to cook the milk down in these recipes. Very easy!
