  1. Other than the cheese sticks and salsa/marinara, looks good to me. I’m not sure on the falafel, that really depends on if you made it or not. I’m by no means experienced, so all coming from what ‘my rules’ are.

Next time, swap out the processed cheese sticks for an aged cheddar, that will be much healthier for you. Good job!

Those falafel look sad. And why marinara and cheese stick chunks on salad? I’m so confused by this

Yay for making nutrition a priority! May I suggest trying hummus on your salad, there’s red pepper varieties and that brings extra flavor while also adding in proteins. As for the cheese I live in the PNW and need extra dairy and I personally wouldn’t use a cheese which isn’t packing a punch flavor wise. I love feta, goat cheese and blue cheese and I do avoid things which are colored orange (I’m adhd and I can’t afford the additional red dye gamble,) but it’s about you making the most educated choices for you. I absolutely love falafel but have found I have to put forth a lot of mental strain reading ingredients for for it to follow the md, so I consume very little of that because ain’t nobody got time for that. Kidding I read ingredients for quite a few things. I’m just really particular about what’s worth it for me, not falafel.
Since you’re posting on a MD group and asking for a rating I’ll give it a 7/10. If you’re consuming veggies as your primary food group that and my desire to stay positive drive the choice. I not too hung up on the salsa as I read a lot of salsa ingredients and very few that I purchase have sugar etc. so I am not too caught up on the salsa if that’s what’s helping you eat it might also add that something if you’re going for that type of flavor another choice is also removing the cheese altogether and instead using a bit of plain nonfat, Greek yogurt as like a sour cream. It works pretty well. It has a good flavor in my opinion and if you are looking, if you’re utilizing the falafel for the protein, garbanzo beans are delicious and they also can be purchased East I don’t know where you live like what’s near you but I get at Trader Joe’s flavored garbanzo beans and they’re incredible. They add a nice pack to my salads and then I don’t have to worry about whether or not the falafel tastes good as well as what the ingredients are.

Not a fan of processed cheese. Love the pickled onions

You don’t need both black beans and falafel. Both are protein sources. While I can appreciate wanting to use up the cheese sticks, I’d save one for a snack if you need a protein hit. I don’t do a serving of beans and a serving of cheese, but if I’m going for a southwest flavor, I’ll shred a little aged sharp white cheddar or cojita on my salad and use salsa and plain whole Greek yogurt for the dressing.

You need a whole grain. With this, I’d make my life easy and have a piece of whole grain bread or a whole wheat pita. Trader Joe’s pitas are pretty clean; not perfect, but close enough.

At first glance, I thought “who the hell puts cheese sticks and gummy worms in their salad?” LMAO
