Went to NYC for the weekend and had a great food experience!

1st day I hit up Flushing, Queens:
Picture 1 – White Bear #6 – wontons in chilli oil. This was so good and surprisingly there was no line when I got there but soon after I left, people started lining up
Picture 2 – Joes Steam Rice Roll – got the signature rice roll and the sweet soy sauce on top made it delicious. The pork was so juicy and the rice roll was so fresh. Was tempted to get another one
Pictures 3 and 4 – Xiao Long Bao and Tawinese fried chicken from New York Food Court. So many good gems inside here! The XLB stall made it fresh and there was SO much broth inside and the dumpling skin was nice and thin. Fried chicken had a really nice crunch and flavour.
Not pictured – Adele’s mixed platter. I’m torn with this one. I heard about Adele’s pre Covid and was meaning to try it but never ended up going into NYC until this trip. Waited almost 2.5 hours for the food. Don’t get me wrong, the platter tasted really good and I do prefer it over Halal Guys, but I don’t think I can ever wait in that line again. A guy shouted at everyone in the line saying “I can’t believe you losers are waiting this long for a halal cart” and honestly I kind of agreed with him lol.

Day 2 –
Not pictured (went for brunch with my cousins and ended up getting caught up with catching up that I completely forgot to get a pic) – chorizo Benedict from Green Kitchen. Portions here are really generous. Benny was really good and the GK sauce is really yummy with the potatoes.
Pictures 5/6 – Got cacio e Pepe and the green tagliatelle with wild boar ragu from Piccola Cucina Uptown. As much as I like Italian American food I do like the classic Italian dishes and the food here did not disappoint. The cacio e pepe comes on a cheese wheel so it was super creamy and tasty. The wild boar ragu was rich in flavour too. The fresh pastas here are really good and the service was top notch.

Day 3-
Picture 7- lox bagel from Tompkins Square Bagels, they had a location near my cousins apartment. Really good bagels and they are not stingy on the lox which I loved.
Picture 8 – salami pizza from L’Industrie. Really thin and crunchy crust, sauce is really fresh and the basil and parmigianno was a nice touch. Also got lucky and didn’t have to wait when I got here.

Overall a great weekend where I ate really good food! Planning on doing another trip in March, any other food reccs? Thinking of hitting up more Asian spots next time.
