i don’t even have words for this meal 😮💨honestly, this was the first time i’ve ever experienced a meal that legitimately felt like i was discovering? learning? about new tastes and flavors and textures and it was just WOW. i dont know if this will make sense, but every dish somehow tasted even better than it looked and sounded, which is saying a lot for a restaurant of this caliber of cooking and creativity. the service was so friendly and not too uptight at all, and the sommelier was so generous with suggestions!
i’m also giving extra points for the somm not pushing the more expensive bottles/bigger formats on me. as a solo diner who is actually pretty low income, it was very comforting to experience accommodating service and ambience. the all black dining room is a little ‘woah’ at first, but it really makes all of the colors and elements of every dish stand out even more!
this is probably the first restaurant i’ve splurged on that made me want to return, especially since their menu changes very often – i absolutely cannot wait to experience this again 💌🌟

Our experience was very similar to yours when we went early last year! Our meal was nearly identical to yours, so I don’t think they change the menu all that often, unfortunately.
seaoak
right off the bat i knew that everything here was gonna taste different than it looked in the best way possible. this was almost like seaweed, and it was so crispy – the dollops of cream were almost mustard-y? but complimented the umami flavor so well !
kohlrabi
this was so unexpectedly good – the layers of crunchy thin kohlrabi were sour but sweet, and although the giant block of ice was a little funny to me at first, this was actually one of my favorites of the night with how refreshing it was.
vendace
this was presented in a pretty standard fine dining way, but i was surprised by the flavor and layers of this!
caviar
included a cross section of this one because i genuinely didn’t know what to expect biting into it. the cubes of fish with the cream under it were so flavorful i almost couldn’t taste the caviar (and tbh i don’t think this meal needed the caviar or truffles at all). the shell of this was also so crispy and im
impressed at the structural integrity of this bite!
custard
i had absolutely no idea what this was. i thought it was like a chawanmushi?? but it was more liquid-y and the foam was SO flavorful and complimented the lobster perfectly.
scallop
i was surprised by the turnip slices tucked between the sliced scallop pieces! i’ve never had scallop cooked this way, and the slightly smoky flavor was sooo delicious i wanted to eat 5 of these!
lobster
this photo looks ridiculous but the server immediately started putting the foam over it while he explained it so i couldn’t get a pic of it before 😭 this foam i thought would taste the same as the one before but it didn’t?? and was still delicious???
trout
this was just. wow. the fish was cooked so well and was so tender, and the crispy lichen was a seaweed like flavor that brought the briny flavor of this dish out. THE BROTH OF THIS WAS RIDICULOUSLY GOOD i wish i could remember what they said it was 🙁
langoustine
i’ve never had langoustine before, but loved this! the meat was so lightly cooked it was almost transparent, and though it was a bit fibrous to cut through with the knife, the SAUCE was once again
what made this unforgettable for me. omg. it was so rich and creamy and there were pink drops of gooseberry (? i think) that melted into the sauce they spooned over and AAAAAA
hake (cover)
i just had to put this first because it was so damn beautiful jesus christ. the caviar once again felt like an afterthought to this dish, because the other flavors blew it out of the water. they served the bread with this course, and im infinitely grateful to the server who suggested i could use it to mop up the sauce which was 🤤 the beer flavor combined with the dill oil was soo delicious i could drink it.
quail
i’ve never had quail before but wow! this was the breast meat with a chicken mousseline inside, and the sauce complimented the gaminess of the meat so well. in hindsight i think im slightly allergic to quail because im having the worst sniffles of my life rn but no regrets because this was so tasty i would eat it again 🫡
venison
on god this genuinely changed my stance on meat. i’ve never had venison before but it was like a super tender steak that was so lean but somehow transforms into this super soft mouthful of flavor, and the seared outside + the sauce made this a perfect bite… the mushrooms on top were also super flavorful, and i loved the bite sized sweet bun with thyme leaves to pop into your mouth after in order to avoid everything feeling too salty!
berries
this tart was so good. the crust was buttery and flaky, and though there wasn’t as much berry flavor as i thought there would be, this was a great start to the sweets!
caramel
I WISH THIS WAS A FULL SIZE TART. i was so sad to have to eat it in one bite (they didn’t give any utensils for the snacks or the sweets😭). rest in peace to this beautiful beautiful dessert you were bigger than the whole sky. i was so sad after eating this
sorbet
this was served with the rest of the confections, but it was so creamy and milky but not overwhelming somehow? the cordial def contributed to this, and it added such an interesting floral profile to the sweet creaminess of the rest of the dessert.
confections
where do i even start: literally none of these were misses. i thought the madeleines would be boring. wrong! i thought the canelés would taste weird because of the punsch flavor. BOOM wrong again. i thought i would hate the marshmallows because i despise licorice with my entire being. wrong. the texture of them was so good i almost cried. the eye leaf sandwich cookies were so good i wish i wasn’t so damn full already. just incredible cooking and baking all around in this kitchen. wow
Looks incredible. Added to my short list of spots for this summer. I wouldn’t ever expect a somm to push a large format bottle on a solo diner though.. so not sure they deserve points for that!
