i randomly stopped by here the other day and it was so good!! and their viet iced coffee is legit

Making this post both in hopes of getting them some business, but also because in more selfish foodie terms it would be a tragedy if a legitimate “Best Of” contender for any category shut down without you trying them or getting a last meal there. I’ve been to almost every well known Vietnamese place in the city and imo nobody is doing banh mis on their level, very fresh and high quality ingredients (and I love their #1 original’s mixture of grilled minced pork in with the traditional pate banh mi)

Wait, Boylan makes bottled Shirley temples?!

  4. Didn’t realize this place was that good, I like getting my haircut around there, definitely dropping by next time!

  5. yakitorispelling

They’re always sold out and close early when I get there. So I end up going to Banh Mi Saigon or Banh Mi Co Ut

Must be fate. I’m visiting my partner in NYC this weekend. I just saw some Instagrammer’s post on this place. I may have to check it out. Question: do they add pate on their sandwiches?

  7. suoinguon

Did you know that the banh mi sandwich is a fusion of French and Vietnamese cuisine? Mind-blowing, right?

  8. I saw Righteous Eats posted about their struggles recently so hopefully that helps them get some business 🙏

  9. They have amazing banh mis, if you’re going to stop by (and please do!) try to get there on the earlier side, I’ve gone a few times to find them closed or sold out. They’re very sweet people as well

Their address is: 369 Broome St, New York, NY 10013

Been going there since I was a kid. Love their sandwiches and snacks!!

For me bahn me is about the bread. If it’s not a real French baguette then it’s not worth eating – I don’t care what they put inside. The closest spot I found outside of Vietnam was Pho Tibet in New Paltz. But I’d be willing to give this place a shot.

  12. TheOriginalMM

Went there on my last trip. Unfortunately, they closed 40minutes before official closing time… sucks because I was eager to try their food!

  13. Thanks for posting, amazing banh mi and really great people… hope things work out for them

  14. Just saw them on Righteous Eats on TikTok! Hoping this blows them up the way they deserve! They’re already my fave spot in the neighborhood. If I lived in the city I’d be there wayyyy more than I already am

  15. Doctorpayne

Man I hope this place doesn’t close. Used to live close by and now every time I’m in the city I make it a point to stop by for a chicken curry bahn mi and a grilled pork. Best in the city!!

  16. choppedcheezy

Y’all need to go and grab the curry chicken banh mi. It’s straight fire

  17. AllwordzAreMadeup___

Interesting. I’ll go check it out sometime this week

  18. The_RoyalPee

This place is amazing, and they have good vegetarian options too for those veg folk who want to support !

  19. bigsplitenergy

I love their sandwiches! And as others have said they are so nice—please support! I’m planning on doing an order for my office next week.

Does someone know if the owners are the same ones as the Saigon Banh Mi In San Francisco? Because I had those in SF and the menu looks the same. Even if they’re not, I’m excited to check them out.

  21. mybackhurtsughhhhh

This is where the foodie influencers can actually contribute something to society

  22. I’ve been to Banh Mi Saigon around the corner a bunch, but never to this place. I’ll have to check it out. It would be a shame to lose a small business like this.

  23. Badweightlifter

I use to go there a lot, back when their house special was only $5. I can’t go there anymore because they close too early at 4pm. I feel like if they just stay open until 6:30pm, then they will catch the early dinner crowd.

  24. tompeepington

This place, Lahore Deli (RIP), and Sunrise Mart were how I stretched my lunch budget working as a costumes PA running around SoHo. Praying that they make it!

  25. This is one of the best viet places in NyC, y’all should all go

  26. clandestinebirch

Oh dang I’ve been wanting to try this place – I’ll make it a point to go this weekend, thanks for the post!

  27. Stunning-Response-67

Bahn mi bread is too dry. Only the one time I had it though. I have not tried it since.

  28. Dangerous_Parfait_19

I live in eastern queens but my favorite thing to do when I wake up early enough on the weekend is to drive here to get a banh mi and coffee. I will try and make that drive more often and you should too

  29. seemooreglass

little italy is where tourists go to be disillusioned

  30. Electrical-Flow-7335

just so everyone knows, most restaurants in nyc are about to close

  31. n00dle_lover

Omg this place is so good- please support them!

  32. LaFantasmita

Ohhh I used to go there when I worked around the corner if my staff meal was lackluster. Been a while, I’ll have to pop in.

  33. stinkyfeetnyc

They should open late and close late to get that bar crowd.

  34. Ahhhhh. That was my favorite banh mi when I lived in NYC! I hope it’s still there by the time I visit. I hope you all go give it some love! I’m drooling imagining my favorite #1 sandwich there. Go support them!!

  35. jewsh-sfw

It seems like they are kind of killing their own business by closing up too early 🤔 I hope they try to stay open later rather than give up

  36. This spot has been around for a long time and is really good. Their #1 is pretty comparable to Ba Xuyen in Sunset Park. It’s cash only.

However I still end up buying from Banh Mi Saigon on Grand St. I grew up going there ever since I was a kid when they were a tiny hole in the wall under the Manhattan Bridge. Plus they started accepting credit since the pandemic.

  37. jessballout

I went today at 1:30 pm and they had sold out! I hope that means business is better
