Ate at this food court called the Hugh in midtown today. There are a bunch of different food vendors and tables in the place. Stadium seating along the side of the food hall as well. I ate at a west African cuisine spot card Teranga. I got Chicken suya, jollof rice in a tomato broth, black eyed pea salad, spicy plantains, caramelized onions and lime, spicy moyo sauce washed down with a Moringa limeade. Was really really good. Definitely one of the tastier and different lunches I’ve eaten. Gotta go back to this place and try out some of the other vendors (and more of Teranga).

I think they made it to the “25 essential dishes” list of nyt one year – it’s how I tried them and agree with you. PDA and mahzedahr definitely very good at the Hugh.

Teranga is AWESOME. I eat there at least once a week. Their jollof is better than what I had while traveling in West Africa!

Ive only been to the Harlem location, but Teranga is easily one of my favorite places. Healthy but damn delicious.

  4. Teranga is excellent! Was surprised at how delicious it was since it’s a fast-casual joint.
