Another excellent experience on our spring break trip to Spain. I found this one really exceeded our expectations. Obviously the chefs here know what they’re doing but we just didn’t expect the level of detail they went to on the plates. The service was world class here as well. They did an excellent job explaining what everything was and what inspired it. A lot of el bulli inspiration here. Hard to explain but I found the flavours and dishes were fairly easy on our stomach as well. It’s so far been our best experience after a couple of times in Barcelona.
The food was just so innovative. Wild colours, see through ham pasta, golden eggs, weird gels and a tonne of different textures. Somehow it all worked brilliantly and didn’t sacrifice on flavour. It was like eating a more traditional Spanish meal but the way it was put together was mind blowing. The whole meal was really fun and full of surprises. Dessert seemed to go on forever and finished with a beautiful tray in their open air patio, a welcome bit of fresh air after a big meal.
Wines were world class, we had several glasses vs the pairings but everything we had was paired perfectly and delicious. The pairing looked solid so I’m sure if you’re so obliged to drink a bit more it would be amazing.
Highly recommend it here. Seemed like good value compared to where some meals are at these days. We were kinda neutral on this one going in but ended up really loving it.
