Roketsu, London, not [yet] Michellin-starred but a filling experience. 11 seater counter for a Kaiseki experience with changing monthly menu. Team were very meticulous throughout, though one less Japanese chef was a bit cheeky about the whole formality of the process. Excellent throughout with the deep fried lobster being the best dish. Other highlights were the egg sauce for the wagyu and the simple soup dish. The dessert was made with peppercorns so gave a bit of a tingle. Would highly recommend as not sure where else in London you’d get such quality of food and number of courses for such a price, in the fine-dining scene.

  3. That’s a nice portion of Uni for 20 pounds. I made the mistake of ordering an extra uni at Taku, which was a rather tiny gunkan and 25 on the bill.

Yours look more fun — were you supposed to make some kind of nori-uni sandwich yourself?

What’s the deal with the 28 pound watermelon though, which I guess you did not have?
