Hey guys what’s up so a couple days back I showed you how to make seitan corned beef I’ll link that recipe down below in case you missed it but today I want to show you how to use that corned beef to make an epic vegan Reuben sandwich not

Healthy at all but I would urge you to make it the way that I’m showing you and not try and make it healthy because it’s it’s so good what you need obviously some vegan corned beef you need two slices of rye bread a little bit of vegan butter will make this taste

Amazing I have some Earth Balance leftover but once I finish this tub I’m going to stick to buying the Miyoko Brown because it’s palm oil free and it also tastes really good very convincing similar to real butter you also need some sauerkraut and I have a confession

This is the first time I’ve ever bought sauerkraut prior to this I’ve only ever eaten sour kraut on Costco hotdogs that used to be one of my favorite foods so my gross you also need some vegan cheese this is the child she’s Byfield roast the creamy original flavor is most similar to the

Swiss cheese that you would usually find on a Reuben chow cheese by far my favorite it melts beautifully the flavors amazing and then we also have a couple of other ingredients to mix up and dressing for our sandwich we’re gonna mix up some russian dressing and I’m actually not sure what the

Difference is between russian dressing and Thousand Island maybe they’re the same maybe not anyway you need some vegan mayonnaise you need some ketchup this is organic ketchup so like ketchup for hippies horseradish check the ingredients if you go out to buy this because I did see one brand that contain

Eggs a little bit of worse – worse storsch Worcestershire sauce if you have it if not you can leave it out most brands will contain anchovies this Annie’s brand is good though need some dill pickles we’re going to chop these up really finely also a little bit

Finely diced white onion and some salt and pepper to taste all right now they’re dressing out of the way I am going to heat up this pan over medium heat and I’m gonna spread some of our vegan butter on our rye bread we’re just going to toast this until it’s nice and

Golden brown and crispy and I strongly recommend that you not skip this part and you can if you want to make it a little bit lighter but the buttery bread is what really puts it over the top and makes it like a real restaurant style

Sandwich you know what I mean but I cook the slices of our seitan corned beef gonna start heating another pan back just medium heat I’m going to take our thinly sliced seitan for thief lay it down in there put our vegan cheese right on top and then I’m going to cover this

Up so that the cheese melts give your bread a check it’s nice and golden brown so it’s ready probably don’t reach directly into the pan probably use a spatula but I’m low-key fireproof because I’ve been burned so many times my latest burn was from the waffle iron

I’m not sure if you can see it yeah my fingers are pretty pretty dead – all sensation at this point we’re gonna put a little bit of our russian dressing on our bread I’m like trying to show you but it’s really not that interesting right and I turn this pan off but

There’s still some residual heat and I’m just going to heat our sauerkraut through took off a little bit of the extra liquid you could just put it on hold if you wanted to and now let’s check on our seitan see if our cheese is melted you could also just heat this up

In a microwave but I mean sometimes people get a little triggered when I show the microphone I sand melty so I’m just goofed this out onto our bread okay here we go and of course you can add any other fresh toppings you want tomatoes lettuce onions let’s cut into this

It smells so fantastic hi I’m gonna try this mmm this is like straight-up vegan restaurant food but you made it at home right you would pay like ten dollars for this and a side of fried you a dollar fifty extra if you want to upgrade to

Sweet potato fries am i right I’m a simple girl give me a good sandwich and I’m happy so that’s it for this video I know this recipe wasn’t difficult particularly but I just wanted to put the idea out there show you that you can veganize most things and the vegan food

Can be interesting and fun so let me know if you make this or if you have an Instagram upload a photo and tag me in it I love when you guys do that and I’m see you in my next video bye

  1. Sometimes people get a little triggered when I show them a microwave. I'm so dead. Lol, thanks for the laugh. You are my new favorite you tuber.

  2. Have you tried "beet pastrami"? It's amazingly delicious in sandwiches (like a reuben) and much healthier than seitan! 🙂

  3. I like what you said about the earth balance butter. I have the same problem… I'm using it too, but I want to change this habit! Your recipes look amazing btw!

  4. Oooh…Chao cheese is my stuff! My fiancé and I wanted some comfort food so we made grilled cheese and tomato soup using coconut herb and creamy original. Great vid, Sarah!

  5. Russian dressing recipes typically call for mayonnaise, chili sauce or ketchup, relish, horseradish, paprika and other seasonings, making it considerably spicier and less sweet than Thousand Island dressing, with its hard-cooked egg, lemon or orange juice, cream and sweet pickle relish or olives.

  6. I'm born and raised full fledge meat eater. Your vegan videos are the first that make me feel like going vegan might be possible. Love your easygoing vibe.

  7. This was super good. I made it a few months back and forgot to like the video! Here I am again…so excited to have this once more! Thanks for posting this recipe!!!
The corned "beef" seitan, too 😀

  8. Wow! I’m just seeing this now ??
Never had a Ruben but had been curious about what a reg Ruben was. Before giving up animal products, thought the least damage I could inflict was just turkey and chicken meat but I now know .. I was wrong but that’s why I never tried a Ruben sandwich. So.. excited to know that there is a vegan option.

  9. I got a Ruben sandwich from a restaurant and it was good but the meat was made from soaked and baked tofu wich was a little dry. I am sure this taste much better with the seitan it's more softer and meatier plus the food was very expensive we paid $80 for 3 sandwiches 2 smoothies and a salad. I would rather make it myself taste much better.

  10. I've made Reuben sandwiches many times and doing all that separately isn't at all necessary. Assemble it and cook it like you were making a grilled cheese. Saves on cleaning pans.

  11. Thank you for noting that Earth Balance has palm oil in it. It's unacceptable that they include that. Miyoko for me too.

  12. My favorite sandwich when I was eating beef. I was hoping impossible meat could make more "meat" but they have not. This Reuben looks amazing.

  13. Ciao and thank you very much for your inspiring Videos, which i share in my cooking group at mewe..personally i lived from 1994-2009 as a vegetarian and as for today in 2023 i will return to this.
so many greetings from Brunswick in Germany and please stay safe 🙂
