Anyone tried this that can confirm? I was looking at getting it, but after this I don’t think I will.

I’m almost done with my bottle from Christmas. My review is the same as most others I’ve read: it tastes good, and it’s pretty hot, but not “who would do this to themselves” hot. You can put a nice amount on a burger.

I’ve found SHU ratings frequently not reflective of my experience. I chalked it up to other factors, like texture and composition, but they could all be lying their asses off. Is there a governing body enforcing correctness?

I’ve got both pepper x sauces and can confirm, I was underwhelmed and it wasn’t that hot.

Hot Ones sauce SHU ratings are obviously bullshit, since SCU is based on get heat of DRIED peppers.

That said, this is still a very hot sauce…

  4. I bought mine from the heatonist website in October and there’s no way it’s only 61k. It’s the hottest sauce I own. It’s way, way hotter than my garlic reaper, scorpion tobasco and cherry reaper sauces. The one sent in could be a bad batch? I personally trust my tongue over the SHU.

Edit: it was autocorrected to that spelling. Dang bot. Tabasco!

I like it, but it’s not that hot. If you gave me 50 super hot sauces, it would probably be the weakest of them all. But that’s fine. Just because it doesn’t melt my face doesn’t mean I don’t enjoy it. Also it’s fun to taste how it has changed over the years from all the different versions.
