    That is really weird, it looks like the coating on the bottom is also peeling. Was it an older lid or anything?

  3. Where did you buy the lids? I seem to recall people having issues with fake Ball lids bought from Amazon (particularly during the pandemic when canning supplies were so scarce).

    This clearly isn’t food you should eat – but I’m curious to know exactly what the failure was.

    ETA how far up with water did you fill your pressure canner? Did the toggle scream? How many PSI for how long? Was this cold pack or hot pack? What recipe did you use?
