My friend and I shared a few dishes at Chalong for dinner tonight. We had the Jor Pu (their take on traditional Hoi Jor) as an appetizer, which was deliciously stuffed with crabmeat, shrimp, and pork. It was on a smaller side though for the price. We had shrimp fried rice and goat curry as mains. My favorite was the shrimp fried rice. It was simple yet well executed. The shrimp was perfectly cooked and the rice had a good texture to it. The goat curry had the right amount of spice and was very filling. Their specialty is Southern Thai food so some dishes are on the spicer side. Apparently, the owners are Soothr and Fish Cheeks alums so they know what they’re doing. I will be back to try more dishes!
