Not good for canning. Fine for dry storage.

I bought this for my wife as a Christmas present.
We immediately returned it because it literally would not seal the lids

They show canned peaches. This device is meant for dry goods only (beans, rice, flour, cereal, etc).
We have the attachment for our bag vacuum sealer and use it. It does preserve dry food longer because it removes the oxygen. Regular mason jar lids will hold dry vacuum — you can even use ‘used’ lids for this.

Useless.

I have this thing and I love it. I do not use it for canning. I use it to store my freeze dried fruits, veggies and herbs.

That’s fake bullshit. Shouldn’t be bought or used by anyone.

I use this in all my dry storage!

Use it all the time for dried herbs, works great. It’s not for actual canning.

It’s NOT for canning (nor does it claim to be). I have one and I love using it instead of dragging out my big food saver with the jar air extractor attachment. To be clear I have a freeze dryer and I use for freeze dried foods I have stored in jars that I open and use regularly. I love it

Best way to preserve homegrown cannabis. Keeps it green and tasty for over a year. But useless for canning because the jar contents remain unsterilized.
Canning isn’t just sealing stuff in a jar. It’s about heating the contents uniformly to a high enough temperature (212F or 240F for high acid or low acid foods respectively) to kill off all the bacteria in the food and render it safe to store at room temperature. The sealed jar just keeps more bacteria from colonizing the food after it’s been sterilized.
