Not sure where my comments went in original post so posting them here:
Thought I’d share some pics from an absolutely outstanding meal at Aska in NY about a week ago.
I am missing a couple of courses in the pictures (i think my wife has them..will have to check).
Pictured:
– Custard with lobster claw, elderflower and trout roe
– Trout with white currant and fried lichen
– langoustine, sauce from shells and red gooseberry
– Hake with beluga caviar, dill and dark beer. Served with malted barley bread
– Roasted Quail with hen of the woods, black and white truffles and walnut sauce
– Venison with a sunchoke and leek stuffed morel
– Caramalized ice cream and walnut tart
– Desert spread!
Overall this was fantastic across the board. I love the elegant and dark feel of the dining room and impeccable service. Bordering on a third star I think.
The Hake and the Venison were standouts to me but every course was excellent.
