Not very often you can say you ate 5 year old jam.
Disclaimer: canned this myself using Pomonas pectin and been stored in my room temp pantry the whole time.

I recently ate elk canned in 1975. It tasted old but not off. No one got sick.

when i was a child my grandparents had me eating 10+ year old jam like it was no problem 😭😭
so glad i’m learning about canning safety as an adult lol
