I had the pleasure of eating at Glouton for a second time, more than five years later and this time with a friend.
There have been significant changes in the restaurant over that time from the layout of the restaurant to the menu. Back when I dined there the first time it was only a la carte, this time there was a tasting menu.
Our least favorite dish was the oxtail which we both ordered as an additional plate, not wanting to potentially miss out. It was a bit too heavy and didn’t really fit the flow of the rest of the meal in that sense.
Stand outs were the heart of palm, suckling piglet and reblochon.
We also had another dessert that wasn’t photographed but it was something that resembled the taste of frozen popcorn, an interesting take. They also sent us home with banana chocolates which were quite nice.
Rafi, our server who was working there the last time I ate at Glouton was fantastic and attentive.
Would go back again, recommend if you are this area of Brazil. Other places we visited on this trip were Tiradentes and Ouro Preto. If heading to Tiradentes definitely stop at Charm Country and eat one of their delicious sausage sandwiches while taking in a beautiful view from their back patio and DEFINITELY go to Ouro Preto, what a beautiful city that is.
Total cost was about $110 per person, well worth it. Cheers.
edit: Sorry, the chocolate balls are not dessert if I am remembering correctly. They were served with coffee after the meal. The coffee was fantastic.
