One of the better parts of the Italian influence over Dalmatia was that Dalmatians were able to improve on Italian cuisine. Pašta fažol comes from Italy, where it’s called pasta e fagioli. It’s a nice and light soup with pasta and beans (duh). It’s also super easy to make, the whole process takes around 30 mins, including prep. It can be served as a main, starter or side. The type of pasta and beans used don’t really matter, though long pasta like spaghetti is not recommended, so experiment away!

Ingredients:
8 oz/225 g pancetta, cubed
1 lb/450 g beans
½ lb/225 g pasta
1 onion, chopped
1-2 tbsp olive oil (if necessary)
2-3 cloves garlic, minced
Salt, pepper, paprika
Parsley, chopped
