I use them because I like the flavors and I consider them close enough- SOME FLAVORS. I also will say they definitely aren’t a daily for me, I do find them delicious and not a chance Id call it breakfast without some berries, veggies etc. I use them more for a sweet treat, I read the ingredients because with this brand, they all have different ingredients as well and I’d not consider whey protein MD. So having said all of this, I would consider them too processed for a daily breakfast but I love the flavors for a treat. It will also say that my success following this diet has been a lot of grace and I’ve been doing it now for years and I have a lot of sensory issues with food. This diet is not about dogma and I make overnight oats often as well. My personal favorite right now’s a mix of matcha, oats, chia seeds and then I cook strawberries down with lemon juice, vanilla and a splash of maple syrup. There is a ton of overnight oats recipes that you can find and I will probably order from this brand because one of my sensory things that I have to suddenly eat an entirely different flavor of something, I found it helpful so just find what’s helpful for you. If you are someone that time is truly money for and you don’t have time to make them and you were eating McDonald’s or donuts or breakfast than this could be something to get you closer to the MD, just
please remember to add produce to it if using as a meal.

  2. Overnight oats can be MD compliant – especially if you make them yourself.

The coconut oil should be limited. Some of the ingredients sound like they could be considered “processed food”, which should be avoided. So… I’d say these would be ok once in awhile, but probably not something to eat daily or even a few times a week.

I’d steer clear of this. Just get some plain rolled oats and eat them with Greek yogurt and berries, a little unsweetened oat milk or dairy milk. Delicious without all the added “stuff”.

  4. This is definitely not part of a Mediterranean Diet. The Mediterranean diet prohibits the consumption of processed foods, refined sugars, refined grains, and trans fats.

This is ultra processed,, steer clear and simply make your own.

Ultra-processed foods are packaged foods that have been made by food companies using many manufactured ingredients, rather than actual foods. Those ingredients are combined in some way to make something that is edible, but it in no way maintains the integrity or nutritional content of the original foods.

Ultra-processed foods are things like hot or cold packaged snacks, pre-packaged meals, sweets and sodas.

You can find tons of recipes for overnight oats or fridge oats. Some are healthier than others. You want to avoid coconut oil and processed additives.

Just a word… Hubby got on a fridge oats kick last summer that lasted about a week-and-a-half. He got tired of them. So you might want to vary your breakfast routine so as not to get bored.
