Highlights from a late April visit to Sushi Hashimoto. Hotaruika is on its last legs for the season, and most clams are hitting their peak. It was nice to see Masunosuke debut a little early this year.
Standout dishes this visit were the Honare (Sado Shima) sashimi at the start and both the Iwashi and Aji nigiri. Spring 2024 is off to a great start for hikarimono. Tuna was from Shizuoka and surprisingly tender.
This was one of the better meals in recent memory at Hashimoto, and I’m looking forward to seeing how the summer unfolds.
