For being one of the best and most popular restaurants in LA, Gjelina opened its doors last year in NYC, only to close 30 days later due to a “fire,” and has never been able to reopen. From what I recall they had a lot of issues before the fire with staff as well. They are now calling on the public for investments in their “friends and family program” where you spend anywhere from 5-25k to use towards private dinners etc. What’s going on? And what went so wrong that they now have no money to re-open? If Gjelina is truly so successful in LA, why wouldn’t the investors be able to project that same success in NY. Any tea?
