I had lunch at Mingles in September 2023 (sorry for the late post!). It was 280,000 KRW/person, which is $208/person as of 5/16/2024. The lunch is already filling, so don’t worry if you can’t get a dinner reservation.
I’ve been to around 13 Michelin starred restaurants in Seoul, and I would definitely pick Mingles as the best and my favorite restaurant I’ve visited in Korea. This was an amazing meal and I would not hesitate to go back.
Compared to other restaurants in Korea, I would say Mingles stands out for their more “flashy,” elaborate, technical dishes that also taste very delicious and use unexpected flavor combinations.
The standout dishes were: fried fish and gamtae roll, black chicken skewer, Hanwoo sirloin and tenderloin, and all the desserts.
Mingles is exceptional at their desserts. All of their sweet dishes were a hit. A lot of Korean restaurants offer a choice between 2 main dessert options, and I strongly recommend the signature dessert, the “Jang trio.” This is one of the most inventive and delicious desserts I’ve ever had. The delightful savory + sweet combination with 3 of Korea’s most important fermented ingredients and the huge variety in textures was great. The Korean sweets continued a high level of execution, with the gochujang chocolate macaron and perilla seed sabre being not too sweet yet nuanced.
Chef Kang came out to greet all the diners, and he was not in a rush. You can definitely have a chat with him, and he signed my menu.
I definitely recommend Mingles if you visit Seoul.
