I'm having a Crohn's flare up so would like to be a bit gentler on my gut. I'm hoping to expand my food groups outside of beige this time. (Picture of examplebeige meal) Does anyone have any meal or snack ideas? Many thanks!

    I hope you feel better!

    I have to be mindful of my fiber threshold, or things can get painful for me. When things flare, I’ll gently wilt a little spinach in olive oil to get some greens in. It’s good with a little minced sautéed garlic, if that’s something your gut tolerates.

    For fruit, applesauce is nice. So are cantaloupe and honeydew if they’re soft and ripe.

    If mashed skinned potatoes work well for you, sweet potatoes in the same form might be ok. I can also do green beans if they’re steamed very well.

    Is smooth nut/seed butter an option for you? I like doing yogurt with a little sunflower seed butter stirred in and maybe a little honey.

    Would something like pealed and deseeded cucumbers be an option? I can’t imagine there is a ton of fiber in the flesh.

    You could also try to juice some fruits and vegetables to get some of the vitamins and minerals (there are decent entry level juicers online that work surprisingly well for the price).
