I have had a newfound beef craving lately, but completely unfamiliar with cooking it. How’d I do? Cooked to about 145 fahrenheit. Is this considered medium?

Looks fine..good job on first steak. If you enjoyed it spend a few extra $ for choice or prime. Heb has a pretty good beef program.

I would run 130 max then pull it but I’d say you did a great first job. Welcome to grilling! There’s a million cuts you can try now, find your absolute favorite!

Looks good – Protip, get the H‑E‑B Prime 1 cuts, it’s like cheating.

Not trying to be a dick here, but it looks like maybe it could have used a little more rest before cutting into it. Sear looks good though and doneness is looks nice too.

Yeah this would probably considered medium. Try to get a more even sear by using a weight or letting your pan/grill get hotter and pressing it down. Also, a prime sirloin is usually better than a select strip/ribeye imo so if the pricepoint is comparable or lower go for it.
