Haven’t been to the US and Whataburger in nearly 2 decades. Hope to go back soon and get their burger again!

Whataburger is just a consistent staple. It used to be more so before being bought out, but it is what it is…

The burger size is pretty large, default is mustard, they got massive cups, only down side is you might wait 20-30 minutes on a good day even in the drive thru.

I imagine I ordered wrong because mine looked nothing like this when they opened up in my hometown. It was a 2/10 and that’s even being generous. I guess I’ll need to try them again only because this sub seems to like them so much.

  4. Something a lot of people don’t know that haven’t had or haven’t had a lot of Whataburger is that their breakfast is amazing. The breakfast burger at Whataburger is a gem.

Whataburger was family owned then they sold and it’s gone downhill ever since, I’m in Texas and the locations near me are so bad now. Makes me sad, used to be a decent fast food burger.

Thanks for showing me this so I don’t have a first time at Whataburger.

Gotta go with the specialty burgers. Sweet and spicy and the double steakhouse are coated. Patty melt is also one of the best there.

You could put this on a red plastic tray and it looks would pass for a school lunch.

No chopped lettuce, no chopped onions, no jalapeño? No bueno

  12. I had it in Arizona.

Mediocre burger and cool, soggy fries.

    Not a fan.

Texas has the best. I’m here is PHX now and they all suck….

I want my sweet and spicy bacon burger back 🙁

It’s reddit fiction to say that Whataburger is much lower quality than before the sale to an investment firm in Chicago in 2019. The company is still headquartered in San Antonio. The Dobsons still hold a minority interest in the company. The food is the same as I remember it and I eat Whataburger a few times a month.

Bottom line is people have their own biases and opinions are often swayed by what they read. I defer to my tastebuds.

Gotta order in Texas toast. That’s the difference maker for whataburger.

Put down that phone and hit those fries. They cool and congeal fast.

Whataburger is one of those places people used to eat at because there was no other choice and they didn’t know any better. Also, a lot of stuff like this passes as good or great in the South. Not hating or anything, but it’s true.

It’s not as good as it used to be, say, 15 years ago. But if you’re in Texas and your choices are Whataburger or McD’s, they’re the better choice. I like the A-1 burger.

Their biscuits & gravy is great bad food, like Jack in the Box tacos.

If you absolutely must do Whataburger, get their best sandwich – The Patty Melt. I have never had a bad one but the regular burgers are severely iffy. And I just made my statement about their fires. Brings down the whole meal. Get Onion Rings instead.

I had it once, and I remember like it a lot. That was probably 15 years ago, at least

    It looks *bad*.

I have been to a whataburger 2x in my life. The first time it was over-seasoned and dry and second it was the okayest cheeseburger Ive ever eaten.

Their A-1 Thick and Hearty burger was delicious. I had my last one almost 6 years ago. Shortly before they were gone for good. I guess it could come back but doubtful.

I’ve never been to a Whataburger, never had any nearby. That picture makes me think I’m not missing much. You didn’t say what was on it, that might have helped.
