I made this cake following the recipe from Claire Saffitz’ Dessert Person and it was a huge success! the lemon curd was so bright and tart, it balanced the cake and frosting perfectly. the curd did make the cake a little unstable and by the time I got to the party it was slouching a bit… still delicious! the piping is… a mess. I’m always rushing to finish so it’s sloppy.

The cake still looks yummy, to me, but the mask behind it is a tad spooky-looking.
When you say preserved lemon, what exactly do you mean? Did you actually used lemons that have been cured in their own juice and a ton of salt?
