It may not be perfect but I would definitely not turn down a slice or more of this pie. That crust has the best color. Please don’t give up on pie baking. This one looks delicious!

Hi, my baking looks worse but I really don’t care as long as it tastes great. No, I don’t make Martha Stewart camera quality baked goods, but if you’re putting your heart into it, that’s all that matters. Baking relaxes me and I get excited about the end result. Which for me is how something tastes, not looks like. You’re going to cut it up anyways. I rather have my average looking pies that tastes great, rather than a beautiful pie that has very little flavor at all or tastes artificial. Okay I hope this helps. Your crust could’ve been much much worse. Looks like you ran out of top crust. Remember to seal with egg wash or something similar. Also good crust takes patience. Going to be practicing more crusts myself.

If you made your pie dough with all butter, it’s never going to be pretty. But it will always taste infinitely better than a decorative crust made with shortening.

I’ll go with the obvious and say you’re a star! While the top may be slightly askew, it’s still pretty. Practice makes perfect if that’s what you seek. In the meantime, any one who would turn down a slice of that would be crazy imho.

Well crusts are difficult to really get right and takes practice. Even seasoned bakers will have the fruit juices run a bit. Cookies are definitely my favorite thing to bake too!
