This is the 2nd time I've cooked steak, I've usually cooked with ground or thin slices of beef. I'm assuming the color change is okay since it all had the same texture and "toughness" (can't think of a good word) π

2nd time burning* a steak.
Sorry I had to. Honestly if this is your honest 2nd time, keep going. Get a meat thermometer and look for that perfect med rare/med that most people enjoy. Little more pink, little more sear, and BANG.
I also wanted to add that I love you for being a soulslike fan. Go you!

Not too bad, if you’re looking for a more medium to medium rare, check out r/steaks ! helped me immensely with my steak cooking. It’s taken a few gos, but finally getting a good crust and a nice pink center here recently (search reverse sear in the subreddit and you’ll find some examples with tips in the commentsπ).
