Having just bought and liked DollarTree’s Coffee ice cream (review), I went back and got their similarly unbranded, Greenbrier International distributed, Vanilla Bean ice cream.
- PRICE: $1.25 for 14 oz
- TEXTURE: A slight improvement on the Coffee ice cream which I believe may have melted and refroze. Still on the icy side though.
- FLAVOR: More artificial tasting than the Coffee. Not bad artificial: like cotton candy, marshmallow or cake batter. Moderate vanilla flavor, not overly sweet.
- SIMILAR TO:Edy’s/Dreyers French Vanilla which I rated 7/10. Both would go well with candy flavors. Dollar Tree actually makes another unbranded Unicorn Birthday Cake flavor I haven’t tried, but I can imagine the flavors working well there.
- RATING: 6/10. The flavor, calories, and grams per weight are all similar to Edy’s French Vanilla. So why rate it less? The texture is a little less smooth, and maybe I notice the after taste more here. In a side by side test though, I suspect they would be more similar than not.
- WOULD REPURCHASE?: No. I don’t this is an offensive ice cream, but it’s not really vanilla bean.
- WHO IS IT FOR?: While this ice cream isn’t a great standalone experience, I think it would do fine paired with a bunch of sour gummies, gushers, etc you can get at Dollar Tree.

Yes it’s very good I had some it’s just taste like the regular vanilla ice cream.
Yikes, the ingredients are garbage.
