Father’s Day steak for the old man. Not home grill advantage, so the sear wasn’t great. But the mushrooms never disappoint. Is it a steak crime to serve with mushrooms on top? Personally never been a fan of having mushrooms and jus on the side just sitting there doing nothing.

Yea, and on top. But i always forget to sautee up some mushrooms n onions. Thanks for the reminder. Gonna make sure i remember this weekend!

To me something like that (and yes I’m including the garlic/onion steak stackers) it looks a bit too much like a scorpion with babies. Mexico has the right idea, give them the base taco and let the people choose what they want piled on, don’t do it for them. Obvious nod to the pineapple chunk with tacos al pastor. Same applies to steaks, don’t go mama-scorpion.

Button mushrooms, sautéed with butter and garlic, salt and pepper, and finished with just enough red wine to make a sauce- on the side
Personally I’d prefer a mushroom sauce, I havent tried it yet but mushrooms and steak combo dont register together in my mind I feel the texture would be off

Oh yes. Chanterelles fried in a tiny amount of oil then I add butter towards the end.
Depends on the quality of the steak. I’d use this to enhance flavor of a cheaper cut but I’m not putting it on my rib eye.
I personally feel that if you’re gonna cover a steak with that many mushrooms, you should just cook a portabella steak…

Love mushrooms. I think that they pair well with mashed potatoes and both taste good with A1 sauce. It’s a clear winner.
Mushrooms, Shallots into same pan while steak rests. +Garlic, Worcestershire, Dijon. Salt / pepper.
I say hell yea! And they go on top (with onions) when I’m making steak for myself and in a neat pile next to the mashed potato when I’m cooking for someone else, in case they want to be wrong.
