Has anyone seen pancakes anywhere in the city in the same style as the Pittsburgh diner chain Pamela’s? Pamela’s makes pancakes thinner and with crispy edges similar to a crepe. Photo for reference. Just a Pittsburgh transplant looking for some taste of home!

Oh Pamelas … I miss it. Salt’s Cure kind of does this, but it’s not the same.

I have never seen these in NYC or CT. It looks amazing.

But, I make crepe-like pancakes at home- very simply. One cup flour (you can choose wheat or white), one egg, one cup milk. Adjust if you want heavier or thinner.

If you want it super crispy like the picture, the crisp comes from heat and fat (either butter, oil or bacon). Probably need a flat top grill to get that size.

Those look good! My wife is from Pittsburgh and she’s never mentioned this place. Will have to stop by next time we visit her family.

Anyway, you might want to check out the [Swedish Pancakes](https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/rh-guesthouse-the-dining-room-new-york?select=-N0qgSNU770ZjOhZOEPQNA) at the RH Guesthouse Hotel in Meatpacking. They’re smaller, but seem to have the same thinness and crispy edges. (Of course the [price](https://images.restorationhardware.com/media/menus/GHNY_Breakfast.pdf) is verging on criminal, but about what you’d expect from a bougie hotel in that area.)

“the original pancake house” chain has something that looks like this, never tried, but they have one in westchester and also a few in new jersey

I had those pancakes in Pittsburgh and they were pretty good. The edges were delicious.

I have not seen anything like this in nyc. Edges being the difference maker.

Go to Agis Counter and order the pancakes (Hungarian Palacsinta) plain.

That’s the closest you will get in a NYC restaurant (everyone saying Breakfast by Salts cure: texture and taste will be VERY different)

If anyone knows how to make these… I’ve been attempting since 2012, please tell me

  8. Oh sweet christ. Hangover cure sent by the lord.

Cafe Luluc in Cobble Hill does an excellent crepe pancake. Cash only!
