Want the taste of cabbage rolls but a bit pressed for time? Try this lazy version made with fresh, Ontario pork and save yourself all that rolling!

Easy and super healthy, Ontario pork cabbage roll casserole is a definite family pleaser!

Preparation Time: 15 minutes
Cook Time: 1 1/2 hour
Servings: 6

Ingredients

1 lb (450 g) Ontario lean ground pork
5 cups (1250 mL) cabbage, chopped
1 onion, diced
1 cup (250 mL) low sodium beef broth
1 cup (250 mL) of pasta sauce
1- 28 fl oz (796 mL) can diced tomatoes
1/2 cup (125 mL) brown rice, dry

Cooking Directions

1. Preheat oven to 400°F (250°C).

2. In a frying pan, brown the Ontario lean ground pork. Once browned, transfer to a 9”x13” baking dish.

3. Add the cabbage, onion, beef broth, pasta sauce, diced tomatoes and brown rice to the 9”x13” baking dish. Cover with tin foil to seal.

4. Bake in the oven for 1 hour, take the dish out and stir it, then bake for another 30 minutes.
