Is it okay for sweet peppers to come out prickly or is this sign of a disease?

Not an expert by any means – never had this happen to my chilis. The warts on gourds and squash are a strain of a plant based herpes virus. If there’s not some sort of bug inside causing stress or eating it causing those bumps – maybe your chili has the herpe? Idk! If this was the case I’d save the seeds. Spikey chilis might be desirable for some people. I think it looks rad! Curious if there’s an effect on the heat level or if this chili turns out hotter than the normal ones on the rest of the plant.
