Recent visit at one of the most decorated places in Thailand, Nusara by chef Tonn, that is included in both Asia and world 50 best restaurants. I wish I was part of a prank, sadly I wasn’t. Took almost 4 hours for 10 courses, moving up and down something that felt like a cheap version of Frantzen made by 5 year old kids. Both food and service are dreadful, white manager kept touching me on the arms like if we were friends(I am a man), still felt over the top. Anyone else been here before? I should have stick to Sorn. It wasn’t cheap either for something that felt like the longest dinner of my life. Views are very good, but the excitement ended there, everything else feels rather cheap.

    Went few months ago.
Not the best but certainly not the worst and the food looked a darn bit better than what you just posted

It looks like amateurs trying too hard.

I tried Le Du—by the same chef, also on both lists—earlier this year and was similarly unimpressed. I just do not think Chef Ton is that good. Honestly, I think the people who make these lists are often not Asian and cannot tell what is actually good Asian food vs just Asian food.

Genuine question: how familiar are you tasting menus of this (supposed) caliber? 4 hours seems a little long but not out of the realm of possibility for a place like this. I’ve never been though so idk.

The fact they don’t even have a Michelin star despite the lower bar for the award in Thailand is a huge red flag. They recently changed to the new location but were in the old location more than a year and didn’t earn a star there.

Went when it first opened, won’t be back. Too many actually good restaurants in town.
