Hey guys so I saw a video about a woman doing a Rapunzel themed day with her kids which included making sugar cookies and decorating them Rapunzel theme!
Well me and my little sister have decided to do the same thing except mean girl themed but the only thing is I’ve never baked sugar cookies before.
If anyone has any good recipes and icing that looks like this when used: I’d be most grateful tysm!

Following to know what kind of icing to use too
This looks like royal icing, which hardens after it has set. Usually the outline is done with royal icing with a little less water, whereas the “flood” icing (inside the outlines) has a little more water so it fills evenly. You can use any internet royal icing recipe.
I use Sally’s cookie and royal icing recipe – comes out great every time! https://sallysbakingaddiction.com/best-sugar-cookies/
Make sure you wait for frosting to dry before you add the decorative parts. Colors will bleed if you don’t
[Pam Kennedy](https://youtube.com/@pamkennedybakes3649?si=rTz157pC_ShrA87t) has a great sugar cookie and royal icing recipe. I used hers to do cookies for my baby shower last year and they turned out so well! I’ve been baking since I was young but I’d never done royal icing before.
I was taught to use shortbread cookies, not sugar cookies. They keep their shape better on the oven, are sturdier esp when handling, and have a longer shelf life.
Instead of water i use lemon juice as I don’t love royal icing with water.
Lemon juice can help make a really great lemon, flavoured royal icing. But just in case you don’t want to use a lemon flavor, you simply add a extract or emulsion of the flavour you want, for example, butterscotch, vanilla or anything you need to add a little extra flavour to your sugar cookies.
Royal icing, which is basically icing sugar and egg white. It will dry and set hard
Wow they are so cute! I love the colors!
