First: delicious sweet roll with homemade butter
bread was soft but slightly sweet. The butter was also very rich and wonderfully salted.
Second: “Fish and chips” – house smoked fish, fresh cut potato chips, celery and dill with caraway creme fraiche
this dish was playfully good. A great take on fish and chips. Brought me back to sitting in NY having a lox bagel for breakfast but a supper approach.
Third: “Caeser salad” – chilled broccoli rabe over the smear of homemade caeser dressing with baled cauliflower. Sprinkled with Parmesan and bread crumbs.
this was my favorite dish. I thought it was an excellent take on a caeser salad and was fantastic. The flavors worked so well together.
Fourth: “pasta” – toasted noodles, just slightly smoky guajillo chili and carrot, toasted almond pesto, lime and oregano
although the pasta was slightly undercooked, the flavors were great. The combination of the lime and the almonds was really wonderful and so different for a pasta dish. I appreciated the effort to try something new.
Fifth: “Fish” – a few small potatoes, sunchoke, tangerine brown butter, marinated spring peas with preserved lemon
I was completely stuffed but still had a decent amount of this fantastic dish. The fish was wrapped and stuffed. The fish was perfectly cooked and the skin deliciously crispy. The spring peas were a refreshing balance against the fish.
