Had the great idea that the fencing at home depot would make a great arch trellis…..needless to say it did not. Luckily I have some spare fence boards hanging around and put them to use. Definitely buying more cattle panel after this season!

I built it with this stuff but I just built it with extra support knowing it would need it. If you just use higher side supports and put a couple rods through the top when the cucumbers are in full it works just fine.
You can also use metal emt conduit pipe to make a frame, and use the regular wiring attached to it. Bend one pipe to desired width, cut a second pipe in half and attach it to both sides of the arched pipe. Repeat to build a second arch, and attach the wire between them. You can add cross pieces for stability or aesthetics if desired. This is a good option for people that can’t transport a 16ft cattle panel or live in an area where they would be prohibitively expensive. I can link a DIY video if someone wants it.
Can you explain more what’s going on? Looks like there’s an arch in pic 1 but the plants fell off it?
Yeah I messed up and bought wire “garden fencing”. I have a feeling it wont be able to hold a single cucumber 🤦🏼♀️.
First year with cow panel trellises. Can’t beat them for $30 a piece. No messing around building frames or running wires or anything else. My cukes love them too and my watermelons are finding them. If anyone reading this is thinking about using them, the answer is yes. Look at some youtube vids for how to transport cow panels
