I spent the day speaking to gardeners and experts about the impacts of the Heat Wave and how you can keep your plants healthy they will Wilt in the afternoon even though they are dry the wilt is a natural instinct to help them preserve moisture preserve energy and all it’s not always a sign that they need water now one tip for knowing if your plant has enough water is the finger test so you’re going to want to put your fingers down in the soil if it’s still damp an inch deep it’s probably got enough water if it’s dry that means you can pull out the hose and give it a good soaking if I need the water during the day I’ll use uh right to the ground do not try to get any on the plant hotted plants need water every day in heat like we’re seeing but not so much for plants in the ground about every four to 5 days a good soaking watering on those is usually ample uh and you’re better off to do a deep slow soaking watering less often because the roots will grow down in search of moisture
