My cherry tomato is producing fruit as expected, as shown in picture #2. But what the heck happened in picture #1? Very much confused.

Wow that’s cool! Never seen that before.

Let it vine ripen and save the seeds.

lol that’s so funny to me.
I bet it’s just a mutation of the gene. The seeds of this tomato would likely grow a plant that presents these same mutations again.
Sometimes plants can cross pollinate, perhaps that could play a role—but I still lean toward natural mutation.
I expect the tomato is safe for consumption once ripe.

It wants to grow up to be a pinwheel.

It reminds me of that creature in Stranger Things…

Oh wow, that’s an interesting one I haven’t seen before. In my experience, cherry tomato plants are *weird*. I’ve had flower clusters that continue on as a new stem, and leaves that suddenly become another stem at the tip. Every time I try to keep them pruned to one main stem, they start growing extra stems from weird places.

Oh wow! I thought that was an elder berry at first glance, until I realized the leaves weren’t right.

Like everyone else said, save the seeds!!!! And send me one

I’d let it grow and keep seeds. This is how a lot of heirloom seeds are carried on and cross-bred with other varieties (not genetically modified), keeping this one for seed could allow you to grow another *separate* seedling crop next year to see what they do. Ya know they’re edible at least, very cool! 🤘🏻🤘🏻
